About Sanyres

Sanyres is a private residential home for older adults. This place is a great environment, tastefully decorated and is a fairly tranquil environment. We have rooms that are for use by all residents such as the reading room, TV lounge, games room, 3 dining rooms depending on the amount of assistance the residents require at meal times, reception area, large rehabilitation gym, relaxation gym, swimming pool (outdoors), OT (or here is called TO !!) room. So, as you can tell there are plenty of areas for residents to find some space even without going to their apartments.

Here at Puerto Banus Sanyres there is a maximum capacity of approx 120 people but we currently have about 70. We have residents from across the globe really from Canada, Sweden, Germany, Norway (including one lady that only speaks Norwegian!), England, Spain (of course!). We have couples and single persons, from those who are fully independent or those who require some assistance in either some or all areas. Some people come here for a short period of time, others live here permanently (some by choice and are independent), plus we have those that come here for rehabilitation such as from a hip fracture once rehabilitated are able to return home and function independently.

When a new resident arrives, they need to have an assessment (the Barthel Index for those who know what that is) as this basically tells the staff how much help the person requires with ADL’s (such as feeding, washing, dressing, transfers, walking etc etc). This assessment along with a cognitive assessment (similar to mini mental) determines the amount of money the resident pays to stay here, those who require most help paying more than those who are independent.
