Trip to Ronda

An orange tree in El Tajo (Ronda)This was the view as I say drinking coffee watching the sun begin to go down..!

More views...

I had wanted to visit Ronda when I came here as I had been told how beautiful it was so it was definitely on my places to visit list (I hasten to add the list is longer than the time I have available!). I had spoken to the physiotherapist from work (Anna) about this and we had made tentative arrangements to do something about this while I am here (but nothing definite). Anyway, needless to say I was very pleased to be heading here.

We called Anna too as she was in Ronda for the weekend and all met for coffee. We had a quick walk around and I have to say it is a stunning place to visit. Let me tell you what the guide book says……

“….Surrounded by mountains and with a spectacular gorge, Ronda is one of the prettiest Andalucian whitewashed villages – and the most visited.
The dominant feature of the picturesque Ronda is the deep gorge (El Tajo) of the Rio Guadalevin. Between its towering walls, a handsome 18th century bridge the Puente Nuevo hangs like a wedge. On the south side of town is the charming old Moorish town with the focus being the Plaza Duqueza de Parcent…..”

So, as you may see it is a bit of a must see place to visit….. We had a wander and met Anna at El Tajo (the gorge) I tried to take some pictures, to show it off and to illustrate the views (not sure I achieved this full as they are snaps really but, see pictures)….
We headed past the Plaza de Torros (Bull Ring) and sat together having a coffee with absolutely stunning views and watching the sun begin to set on a glorious day…. About 7pm we headed off back down the mountain roads to drop me back to Puerto Banus, and get some sleep before an early start on Sunday…..
