Little Miss Massey has been a little
quiet over the last few years. She's had her head down and been working hard.
Rest assured there has been some fun along the way, so it hasn't been all work
& no play!
An exciting new chapter is about to
begin as Little Miss Massey heads to Boston MA. USA. Having been awarded the
Elizabeth Casson Trust Tufts Scholarship for 2013/14.
The
Scholarship enables a qualified Occupational Therapist to spend two terms
(September to June) studying for a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy at
the Boston School of Occupational Therapy. The scholarship is fully
funded covering a return airfare, travel insurance; costs of registering for
the course and visas; the tuition fees; cost of accommodation, health
insurance; and a living allowance. I think it is fair to say its a once in a
lifetime opportunity and one I intend to fully embrace. The academic demands
are high as a 2 year masters is condensed into 10 months!
For
those who reading this think they would like to be considered in the future...
The
Scholarship is open to any qualified British Occupational Therapist who has a
2.1 degree or above and has worked for over two years since qualifying.
The
returning scholar presents a talk to the students at Oxford Brookes University
and the Elizabeth Casson Trust. Applicants should be aware that the academic
demands are high. Previous scholars all say it has been a life-changing
and worthwhile experience..... And so another adventure begins...
Watch
this space for updates as and when I'm not too busy soaking up The American
Dream.
