Today I found out that tomorrow is a public holiday here – they like to refer to them as Fiesta’s (party). It is just in Andalucia involves around 8 towns including Malaga, Puerto Banus and Benalmadena… All shops etc are closed and I don’t have to work – HURRAH!!!!!!
once I had clarified that it was a holiday and I wasn’t working, I asked Maria what she was doing for her day off she said she would go walking in the countryside and asked if I would like to join her…. So, basically tomorrow I am off on the bus to Estepona which is just along the coast from here towards Gibraltar. I think it takes about 45 minutes on the bus and am looking forward to it , for a couple of reasons….
It will be good to escape Puerto Banus and see somewhere different (although still Costa Del Sol most places along here are different to Puerto Banus I think!!!).
Maria has said she will cook me a traditional Spanish dish (of course this is to be reciprocated by the English dish I have to cook in the cookery class at work next week – see post called Challenge by Supervisor!)
I am also looking forward to getting out into the countryside and perhaps seeing a little of ‘real Spain’ as Puerto Banus can hardly be called real ‘Spain!’
I will take my camera and try to update with some pics of Estepona…!!
