Yes, you read it right…. Jasbir and I happened across a row of orange (naranja) trees in Benalmadena at the weekend and she was determined to pinch an orange from the trees…!! I was slightly reticent..! We wandered up and down the street smelling the orange blossom and trying to find an appropriate tree away from the glares of the locals in the bar further down the road. Several minutes passed as we waited for the coast to clear…

So, how do you get an orange from the tree that is too tall for you to just reach up and grab….??

We tried to throw a fallen orange at the tree to make another fall….. No result…

Then, we tried to shake the tree…… No… they weren’t budging…..

Finally, I gave Jasbir a leg up to reach one and pick it…. SUCCESS!!!!!!

Next, it was taking it back to hear apartment to try it… On return to her apartment at Sanyres, we told the cleaner what we had done and she said (in Spanish) that they are bitter…. But still we had to try…. We went upstairs cut open the orange and tried.. Jasbir first of course…. Then me….. Lets just say… they oranges are not picked for a reason obviously as they are bitter as anything…!! We didn’t eat the whole orange but the whole experience was funny…..!
